Littleton, CO – This Friday night the Rocky Mountain Division will begin its road to the PIHA Finals to be held at HotShots Arena in Mt Pleasant, PA during the last weekend of February. RMR, located in Lakewood, CO, will host the #2 seed, Colorado Springs Thunder as they take on the third seed Mile High Miners. Both organizations come into the night with their sites on the conference favorite Parker Prowlers and their chance to knock off the defending conference champions.
The 3-game series begins at 8:00pm and should be played in front of a packed house. “Both of these teams draw well and get great support from their fans. We are looking forward to the opportunity to push our way on to the Conference Finals and then hopefully the PIHA Finals in February,” mentioned Miners head coach, Mike Penman. The two organizations have met 8 times this regular season with the Thunder winning 5 of the contests including the last two. But RMR has been friendly confines for the Miners as they have pulled out their 3 wins in the series all in Lakewood. The Miners also come into the series with last season’s upset of this same Thunder squad still very fresh in their minds. Both teams have been off for a few weeks and will have to knock off the rust quick to see who gets bragging rights and the chance to move on in this year’s PIHA Playoffs.
